Airbnb expands grocery delivery via Instacart across US and Canada
Airbnb has expanded its in-app grocery ordering service, powered by Instacart, to guests across the United States, with Canada expected to follow in the coming weeks, according to a company statement.
Guests can now order groceries up to three weeks before check-in directly through the Airbnb app, with $0 delivery fees on orders of $10 or more. No separate account or app download is required, and the listing address is pre-populated automatically. The service is available for eligible trips across the US, with some regional exceptions.
In Phoenix, Arizona and Orlando, Florida, hosts who opt in can receive grocery orders and stock the fridge and pantry before guests arrive.
"We wanted groceries to feel like a natural part of a stay, not another errand, so guests can have everything they need waiting for them when they arrive," said Juan David Borrero, Global Head of Partnerships and Business Development at Airbnb.
Instacart data from orders placed through Airbnb reservations between March 1 and June 30, 2026, shows regional ordering patterns among travelers. Guests in Madeira Beach, Florida ordered sunscreen approximately 4.5 times more than the national Airbnb average. Miami guests ordered bottled yerba mate at more than 3,000% above the national average, while Los Angeles guests ordered oat milk at 214% above average.
"There's nothing like arriving somewhere new and having it feel like home from day one," said Ryan Hamburger, Chief Commercial Officer at Instacart.
For Canadian guests, Instacart will be available through Airbnb for the first time once the service launches there. Airbnb stated that grocery delivery has been one of the most-requested services on its platform.
