Citi analyst Jason Bazinet reiterated a Buy rating and $270.00 price target on Take-Two Interactive (NASDAQ: TTWO), following a meeting with three members of the company's management team, including CEO Strauss Zelnick, CFO Lainie Goldstein, and investor relations officer Nicole Shevins.
Discussions covered GTA Online timing, streaming, NBA 2K, and capital allocation. Management declined to confirm a reported 2027 launch window for GTA Online, which had been suggested by commentary on Twitch. The company said it is focused on both new franchise development and GTA Online simultaneously.
On artificial intelligence, management said AI is being used to improve efficiency in mobile gaming and to accelerate console-to-PC porting, with limited headcount reductions resulting from its use.
Management estimated the PC gaming market is now 40% the size of the console market, compared with 5% ten years ago, and said streaming is two to five years away, with network latency cited as the primary barrier. Management did not report any weakness in the mobile gaming market or the NBA 2K franchise.
On capital allocation, management said it hopes to grow both organically and through acquisitions, while remaining cautious about leverage. The company said it prefers share buybacks when it sees a significant gap between fair value and prevailing market prices.
