Houlihan Lokey names Prabha Sipi Bhandari as chief legal officer

Houlihan Lokey, Inc. (NYSE: HLI) has appointed Prabha Sipi Bhandari as Chief Legal Officer, according to a company statement. She will oversee all legal and compliance activities globally and serve as corporate secretary to the firm's board of directors, holding the title of Executive Officer.

Bhandari joins from Paychex, where she held the roles of Chief Legal Officer, Chief Ethics Officer, and Secretary, serving on the Executive Committee. Before Paychex, she held senior legal positions at American International Group (AIG), Freddie Mac, and Viacom. She also spent 13 years at Deutsche Bank, where she served as Managing Director, General Counsel for Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., and Global Head of Mergers & Acquisitions – Legal. Earlier in her career, she was a Corporate Associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell and began as a law clerk for the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.

Bhandari succeeds Christopher Crain, who has served as Houlihan Lokey's General Counsel since 2004. Crain will transition to the role of Corporate Senior Advisor, supporting the leadership handover and advising senior management on non-legal matters.

Bhandari holds a B.S. from Cornell University and a J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she served as an editor on the NYU Law Review.
