Coretura, the software-defined vehicle (SDV) platform company founded by Daimler Truck and Volvo Group, has selected Alloy Kore as the safety-certified software foundation for its commercial vehicle platform, Vector and QNX announced Sept. 22, 2026.
Alloy Kore is a jointly developed software layer from Vector and QNX, a division of BlackBerry Limited (NYSE: BB). The selection marks the first design win for Alloy Kore since its introduction.
Coretura will access Alloy Kore through the Vector Distribution, a ready-to-use implementation that combines the automotive operating system foundation with Vector's middleware, communication, and integration capabilities for high-performance computing environments.
Alloy Kore combines a safety-certified real-time operating system with a pre-integrated set of automotive system services into a single software foundation. According to the companies, the platform is intended to reduce integration overhead and streamline certification efforts, allowing vehicle manufacturers to focus development resources at the application layer.
"Selecting Alloy Kore is a deliberate step on that path, and it helps us deliver commercial vehicles that keep getting smarter, safer and more valuable long after launch," said Johan Lundén, CEO of Coretura.
Coretura is headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, and employs more than 130 engineers from over 15 countries. Vector, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, employs approximately 4,500 people and reported revenue of €930 million in 2025.
