Garg Group names three director candidates at Better Home & Finance

September 18, 2026 8:01 AM EDT

Vishal Garg, founder and former CEO of Better Home & Finance Corporation (Nasdaq: BETR), has announced a slate of three director candidates as part of an ongoing consent solicitation seeking to remove five current board members.

The three candidates named are Bing Gordon, a partner at Kleiner Perkins and former Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) board member; David Heidecorn, a senior advisor to L Catterton and former chief risk officer at the firm; and Steve Sarracino, founder and partner of Activant Capital, which is described as one of Better's largest investors. Sarracino previously served on Better's board from 2019 to 2024.

According to the press release, Gordon and Sarracino are already shareholders of Better, and Heidecorn has indicated he would become one upon joining the board. The press release notes that no formal agreements have been reached with the three candidates, and their appointments would require approval from a majority of board members if the consent solicitation succeeds.

Garg is soliciting shareholder consents to remove five current directors: Daniel Lewis, Harit Talwar, Arnaud Massenet, Bhaskar Menon and Prabhu Narasimhan. The Garg Group has set October 2, 2026 as the target date for submission of written consents.

Garg stated that if the board were reconstituted, a search for a new permanent CEO would begin, working with executive search firm Daversa Partners. A leading search firm would also be retained to identify additional independent directors.

Garg filed a definitive consent solicitation statement with the SEC in connection with the solicitation.
