Viasat, Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT) announced that its ViaSat-3 F2 satellite has entered service across the Americas, completing the company's three-satellite ViaSat-3 constellation.
According to the company, the F2 satellite is designed to provide more than one terabit per second of throughput capacity over the Americas. The satellite uses beamforming technology to dynamically allocate capacity across flight routes, shipping lanes, and geographic regions.
With ViaSat-3 F1 already in service and F3 having entered service across Asia-Pacific in August 2026, Viasat states the completed constellation has tripled the bandwidth available across its global fleet. The company serves aviation, maritime, government, and broadband customers.
"With the VS3 constellation now fully operational, we have substantially expanded our ability to deliver high-quality connectivity where demand is growing fastest and introduced new forms of resilience for our government and commercial customers," said Mark Dankberg, Chairman and CEO of Viasat.
Dankberg also stated the company believes the VS3 satellites are "the most advanced commercial satellites in the world" in terms of adaptive beamforming, link speeds, interference resilience, solar power generation, and thermal dissipation, though the company did not provide independent verification of those claims.
Viasat is headquartered in Carlsbad, California, and operates offices in 24 countries. The company completed its acquisition of Inmarsat in May 2023.
