Velo3D, Inc. (Nasdaq: VELO), a metal additive manufacturing company, announced it has joined the Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP), a cooperative information-sharing program between the U.S. government and industry.
GIDEP provides participating organizations access to technical, quality, reliability, and supply-chain information intended to help members identify potential issues and reduce risk in products supporting government and defense programs.
Velo3D said membership in GIDEP will complement its existing quality and supply-chain risk-management processes for defense manufacturing activities.
"Trust and reliability are essential when producing parts for mission-critical defense applications," said Arun Jeldi, CEO of Velo3D. "GIDEP gives Velo3D access to critical information shared across government and industry, complementing the quality and risk-management processes that support our defense manufacturing activities."
The company supports U.S. defense manufacturing through its Sapphire family of large-format metal additive manufacturing systems and its Rapid Production Solutions offering, which are used to produce complex metal components.
