AXG and Digital Realty (NYSE: DLR) announced a partnership to help global system integrators (GSIs) and managed service providers (MSPs) deliver hosted private infrastructure as a service across 31 markets in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.
The joint offering combines Digital Realty's data center platform, PlatformDigital, and its interconnection solution ServiceFabric, with AXG's infrastructure procurement, financing, deployment, and lifecycle management capabilities. GSIs and MSPs retain ownership of the customer relationship, solution design, managed services, and application layer under the arrangement.
The offering is structured around a single agreement with a monthly recurring charge and no upfront capital requirement for the end customer. It targets four areas: private AI infrastructure for training and inference, edge computing across distributed locations, cloud repatriation for workloads moving off public cloud, and hosted capacity for AI service providers.
"By combining Digital Realty's global, connected, and AI-ready infrastructure platform with AXG's flexible as-a-service model, we are creating a powerful new route to market," said Jules Johnston, Senior Vice President of Channels and Alliances at Digital Realty.
AXG CEO Bo White said the partnership addresses demand from enterprises and governments for dedicated infrastructure with cloud-like simplicity, citing data residency requirements and the economics of high-utilization AI workloads as drivers.
According to the press release, AXG operates across more than 50 countries and serves enterprise and government customers through a partner ecosystem of GSIs, MSPs, and original equipment manufacturers.
