ZenaTech added to Canada's Defence Drone Initiative supplier pool

September 17, 2026 8:03 AM EDT

ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA) has been selected as a qualified supplier under the Government of Canada's Defence Drone Initiative (DDI) Marketplace, according to a company statement.

The qualification places ZenaTech in Canada's pre-qualified supplier pool, allowing the company to compete for future drone-related contracts supporting the Canadian Armed Forces and Canadian Coast Guard. The company noted that qualification does not constitute the award of a procurement contract.

Canada's Defence Drone Initiative was launched in July 2026 to accelerate the development, testing, adaptation, and production of uncrewed and autonomous systems, while strengthening domestic defense industrial capacity.

ZenaTech CEO Shaun Passley, Ph.D., said the selection "represents an important milestone for our growing defense business" and that the company looks forward to demonstrating how its ZenaDrone solutions can contribute to Canada's domestic drone and autonomous systems industry.

ZenaTech's defense-focused drone portfolio includes the ZenaDrone 1000, a multifunction autonomous drone platform currently in the testing stage, designed for surveillance, reconnaissance, logistics, and cargo missions. The company's IQ Series covers indoor inventory management, inspections, land surveys, and underwater applications. Counter-UAS maritime interceptor drones and a launch and refueling station are currently in development.

ZenaTech operates drone manufacturing facilities in Arizona, Dubai, and Taiwan through its subsidiary ZenaDrone.
