Air Products (NYSE: APD) has signed a long-term agreement to supply high-purity industrial gases to an unnamed semiconductor manufacturer expanding operations in Arizona, according to a company press release.
Air Products said it will invest approximately $250 million to build, own and operate gas supply infrastructure in Arizona supporting the customer's semiconductor manufacturing and advanced packaging operations. The infrastructure will include hydrogen generation units, carbon dioxide purification units, and bulk gas systems for helium, hydrogen and carbon dioxide, along with storage, purification, analytical equipment and pipeline infrastructure. Supply is targeted to come onstream in phases.
The company described the deal as its second recent semiconductor supply contract win. Combined investment across both projects totals more than $900 million.
Francesco Maione, Air Products' President of Americas, Helium and Rare Gases, said the investment "reinforces Air Products' role as a trusted supplier" and "strengthens our established global relationship with this strategic and important customer."
Air Products has operated a facility in Chandler, Arizona since 1981 and runs an ultra-high purity nitrogen pipeline network serving customers across the greater Phoenix area.
The company reported fiscal 2025 sales of $12 billion from operations in approximately 50 countries.
