VPT launches FLX Series DC-DC converter for defense and space use

VPT, Inc., a subsidiary of Heico Corporation (NYSE: HEI.A, NYSE: HEI), has launched the FLX Series, a configurable DC-DC converter power solution designed for military, avionics, and space applications, according to a company press release dated Sept. 16, 2026.

The FLX Series supports standard 28 V, 50 V, and 270 V bus voltages and delivers between 1 W and 5,000 W of output power with efficiencies up to 90%. The product integrates DC-DC converters and EMI filters into a single housing and is available in three mechanical configurations: vertical, horizontal, and stacked.

Units operate continuously from -55°C to +110°C with no power derating. For space applications, radiation capabilities range from 30 krad(Si) to 100 krad(Si), depending on the converter model selected.

"The new FLX Series is highly scalable, optimizes SWaP, and delivers exactly the power and voltages a customer's system needs," said Kevin Seaton, Advising Engineer at VPT. "We designed this series for rugged environments and favorable lead times, each assembly is prequalified to Military Standards and offers configurable output rails through preferred connector interfaces for streamlined power integration."

The series meets MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, and DO-160 standards and is manufactured in facilities certified to SAE AS9100, J-STD-001 (Space Addendum), and IPC-A-610. The FLX Series is available immediately.
