F5 (NASDAQ: FFIV) announced a strategic partnership with Omnissa to combine F5's application delivery and security products with Omnissa's digital workspace portfolio for enterprise virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) deployments.
According to a press release, the partnership integrates F5's BIG-IP product suite with Omnissa Horizon and Omnissa Access. The combined solution is designed to consolidate DMZ architectures, automate multi-site failover, and provide secure access for distributed workforces across hybrid cloud environments.
Key technical components of the joint offering include F5 BIG-IP Zero Trust Access for unified VDI and application proxying, BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager for load balancing across Omnissa Horizon infrastructure, and BIG-IP DNS for global traffic steering with automated failover across multi-site deployments. The integration also covers single sign-on and policy enforcement through a connection between BIG-IP ZTA and Omnissa Access.
Presidio, a systems integration firm, is named as a channel partner supporting deployment and professional services for the joint solution.
"Securing and optimizing digital workspaces in today's hybrid, multicloud enterprise demands seamless interoperability across identity, security, and application traffic management," said John Maddison, Chief Marketing Officer at F5.
Bharath Rangarajan, Senior Vice President of Product at Omnissa, said the partnership aims to help customers achieve "high-performing, resilient, and Zero Trust-protected workspaces across supported cloud and data center environments."
F5 and Omnissa are scheduled to appear at two industry events in September: Presidio TechX in Dallas, Texas, and Omnissa ONE in Orlando, Florida, from September 28 through September 30.
