DuPont (NYSE: DD) announced the global launch of Tyvek with Renewable Attribution for Consumer & Industrial applications, targeting sectors including active packaging, tags and labels, race bibs, wristbands, and industrial packaging such as art packaging, dunnage and industrial bags.
The product is available at renewable attribution levels ranging from 30% to 100%, linked to ISCC PLUS-certified bio-circular material on a mass balance basis. The bio-circular feedstocks are derived from second-generation biomass, including waste and residues, and are introduced and tracked within the upstream supply chain to reduce reliance on fossil feedstocks.
According to the company, at a 30% renewable attribution level, the product supports an approximately 30% reduction in carbon footprint compared to standard Tyvek, based on peer-reviewed, ISO-compliant life cycle assessment data. For active packaging, the product is currently available up to 30% renewable attribution on HealthCare styles.
DuPont said the product is manufactured to the same specifications as conventional Tyvek, meaning existing customers do not need to redesign products or processes, and no requalification is required.
DuPont's Tyvek manufacturing sites in Luxembourg and Richmond, Virginia hold ISCC PLUS certification and undergo annual third-party audits.
"Tyvek with Renewable Attribution provides customers with a credible solution that maintains the performance they know while supporting progress on sustainable material sourcing and carbon footprint reduction," said Jonathan Brunette, Sustainability Application Development Engineer, DuPont Tyvek Consumer & Industrial.
