Surf Air Mobility attends FAA eVTOL pilot program launch in Texas

Surf Air Mobility (NYSE: SRFM) announced that company executives attended the launch meeting for Project Nexus on Sept. 10 at Alliance Field in Fort Worth, Texas. Project Nexus is the Federal Aviation Administration's eVTOL Integration Pilot Program awarded to North Texas.

The program brings together eVTOL manufacturers including BETA Technologies, Joby Aviation, and Archer Aviation, and is designed to establish operational, regulatory, and infrastructure frameworks for integrating electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft into the national airspace.

Surf Air Mobility operates a Part 135 scheduled airline and has developed SurfOS, a proprietary AI-enabled software platform built in partnership with Palantir Technologies. The company also operates Mokulele Airlines, which runs approximately 112 daily flights across Hawaii, the largest commuter airline network in the state.

According to the press release, Surf Air Mobility is scheduled to participate in a demonstration flight program with BETA Technologies' ALIA electric aircraft in Hawaii beginning in June 2026. The company has stated a goal of operating the first commercial passenger electric flight once such aircraft receive certification.

Chief Executive Officer Deanna White said: "Project Nexus represents exactly the kind of collaboration this industry needs to move eVTOL and other Advanced Air Mobility aircraft from prototypes to daily commercial operations. We built SurfOS and our operating airline for this moment."
