Rogers extends Rogers Place naming rights deal with OEG for 10 years
Rogers Communications (TSX: RCI.A, RCI.B; NYSE: RCI) and OEG Sports & Entertainment have agreed to a 10-year extension of their strategic partnership, keeping Rogers Place as the home of the Edmonton Oilers through 2036, according to a press release.
The extension builds on an original sponsorship deal signed in 2013 and includes brand and advertising placements, arena signage, concourse, rink, in-ice, in-bowl, and in-game applications.
"This long-term extension reflects the strength of our partnership with the Edmonton Oilers and the shared belief that hockey connects communities," said Tony Staffieri, President and CEO of Rogers.
Hugh Weber, CEO of OEG Sports & Entertainment, said the extension reflects a decade of collaboration. "As we celebrate 10 years of Rogers Place and ICE District, this long-term extension is a testament to the strength of our partnership, and we're excited about what we can create for Oilers fans over the next decade."
As part of the announcement, Rogers said it will award more than 1,500 Oilers tickets to customers during the season, beginning with 300 tickets for the Home Opener on Sept. 29 against Vancouver. A new Rogers Goal Cam feature at the arena will allow fans to capture and share in-arena reactions to Oilers goals.
Rogers also remains the presenting partner of the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation 50/50 and Every Kid Deserves a Shot program. Sportsnet, owned by Rogers, serves as the exclusive regional broadcast partner of the Edmonton Oilers through 2035. Rogers and the NHL separately announced a 12-year national media rights agreement covering all platforms in Canada through the 2037-38 season.
