Investing.com -- Vice President JD Vance said today that the White House wants the Federal Reserve to reduce interest rates. He stated that current inflation data supports such a move.
Speaking from the White House briefing room, Vance said the Trump administration was "doing a lot of things to try to keep those interest rates down. But it would be nice to have some help from the Federal Reserve."
The vice president's comments represent the administration's position that economic conditions now warrant lower borrowing costs from the central bank.
