GE HealthCare adds three cardiac ultrasound systems to Vivid lineup

August 28, 2026 6:45 AM EDT

GE HealthCare (Nasdaq: GEHC) announced three new cardiovascular ultrasound systems — Vivid Explorer, Vivid Advanced and Vivid Focus — expanding its existing Vivid portfolio, which previously centered on the Vivid Pioneer system.

The three new systems have received CE Mark but remain 510(k) pending with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and are not available for sale in the U.S. They are set to be showcased at the European Society of Cardiology Congress 2026, scheduled for August 28–31 in Munich, Germany.

Each system targets a distinct clinical environment. Vivid Explorer is designed for high-volume echo labs and routine interventional procedures, supporting transthoracic, transesophageal and intracardiac echocardiography. Vivid Advanced targets mid-size hospitals and cardiology practices requiring comprehensive cardiac imaging alongside vascular and abdominal exams. Vivid Focus is positioned for everyday cardiac imaging and includes the new 4Sc-RS probe along with AI-enabled workflow tools.

All three systems share cSound, a software-based imaging architecture used across the Vivid portfolio. They also include AI tools such as AI Auto Measure 2D, Easy AutoEF and AI Cardiac Auto Doppler, designed to automate measurement steps including ejection fraction calculations.

GE HealthCare also announced EchoPAC Software Only v211, a cardiovascular analysis and reporting platform that carries the same capabilities as the three new systems. It is also 510(k) pending with the U.S. FDA and not available for sale in the U.S.

"The imaging needs of an echo lab, a cardiology practice, and an interventional environment are not the same, and we've spent a lot of time with care teams in each of those settings to understand where technology can make the greatest difference," said Jyoti Gera, CEO of CardioVascular and Interventional Solutions at GE HealthCare.

Additional solutions to be displayed at ESC 2026 include the Revolution Vibe CT system, MUSE NX diagnostic cardiology solution, Vscan Air SL ultrasound system, ComboLab AltiX AI.i and ViewPoint 6.
