8x8, Inc. (NASDAQ: EGHT) reported that customer interactions powered by its AI Studio product have grown nearly nine times since the tool's early availability launch in April 2026, according to a company press release.
Organizations across more than a dozen industries are deploying AI agents through the platform, which 8x8 says now supports GDPR compliance and HIPAA-readiness. The product is available to existing 8x8 customers at no additional licensing cost, with a free tier for building and testing.
Pricing is consumption-based, meaning customers pay only for usage, with budget alerts and spend visibility down to the individual app and agent level.
The company also announced several new capabilities for the platform, including the ability to deploy a single AI agent across multiple channels such as voice, SMS, WhatsApp, and web; caller memory that surfaces prior conversation history for returning callers; AI assistance integrated directly into 8x8 Contact Center queues; and app access using single sign-on or one-time codes without a separate authentication provider.
Three customers were cited in the release. PrepayPower, an Ireland-based pay-as-you-go utility provider, used the platform for priority call routing and quality scoring. LSH Auto, described as one of the UK's largest luxury automobile dealer groups, deployed the tool for reception coverage and customer routing. PrimeSource, a building products company, built an internal IT triage agent that creates support tickets automatically.
For partners managing the platform on behalf of customers, 8x8 added consolidated invoicing and a shared credit pool allowing capacity allocation across multiple accounts.
Metrigy President and Principal Analyst Irwin Lazar was quoted in the release, noting that nearly 72% of organizations in the firm's research prefer custom-built AI agents, and that most organizations in Metrigy's 2026 study plan to deploy AI agents during the year.
8x8 AI Studio remains in early access. Hunter Middleton, Chief Product Officer at 8x8, attributed adoption growth to the platform's ability to reduce the integration work typically required to move AI from testing to production deployment.
