Clearlake Capital and Google Cloud form AI partnership for portfolio

August 27, 2026 7:08 AM EDT

Clearlake Capital Group and Google Cloud announced a strategic partnership to expand artificial intelligence adoption across Clearlake's portfolio companies, according to a press release issued Aug. 27, 2026.

The agreement gives Clearlake portfolio companies access to Google Cloud's AI platform, which includes AI infrastructure, data systems, cybersecurity tools, and agentic AI platforms such as Gemini Enterprise. Portfolio companies will also have access to Google's Vertex AI, which supports open-source and third-party AI models, as well as Google Cloud's AI Hypercomputer with TPU accelerators and Nvidia GPUs.

The partnership is integrated into Clearlake's operational framework, known as O.P.S. (Operations, People, Strategy), and will operate as part of Clearlake AI Labs, a dedicated unit focused on AI adoption for portfolio management teams.

"Artificial intelligence has evolved past standalone point solutions; driving durable value creation now requires an integrated, full-stack approach," said Prashant Mehrotra, Partner and Managing Director, and Tony La Rosa, Managing Director, Technology and O.P.S., at Clearlake.

"Private equity sponsors and their management teams recognize that realizing the true business impact of AI requires more than just access to models—it demands a robust, end-to-end cloud and data foundation," said Paul Zimmerman, Managing Director, Private Equity at Google Cloud.

Clearlake stated that some portfolio companies, including Alteryx, are already using Google's platform. Clearlake Capital is headquartered in Santa Monica, California, and manages platforms spanning private equity, liquid and private credit, and related strategies.
