Solana Company announces votes on first Solana governance proposals

August 21, 2026 11:00 AM EDT

Solana Company (NASDAQ: HSDT), a digital asset treasury company and operator of Solana validator infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific region, announced its voting positions on three Solana Governance Proposals (SGPs) ahead of on-chain voting expected to open Aug. 22, 2026.

The company said it will vote in favor of SGP-0001, known as The Solana Constitution, and against both SGP-0002, the Double Disinflation Rate proposal, and SGP-0003, the Resource and Inclusion Fee proposal.

The company stated its opposition to SGP-0002 and SGP-0003 is based on timing rather than the underlying goals of the proposals. It cited concerns that changing Solana's inflation schedule and fee structure during the governance process's first live cycle could delay institutional participants currently evaluating validator operations and staking.

Regarding SGP-0002, the company said its objection is not to lower issuance as an end goal but to reopening what it described as a settled, deterministic inflation schedule. It noted that staking yield is a reported financial line item for many holders and said it would support a renewed disinflation discussion once sustained net inflows into SOL are evident.

On SGP-0003, the company acknowledged that the current flat fee does not align costs with network load but said the existing fee provides a known constant that financial institutions can budget in advance. It said it would reconsider its position on a revised design that preserves a deterministic fee floor.

Joseph Chee, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Solana Company, said: "We strongly believe that institutional adoption is a critical driver of Solana's growth, and institutions make decisions based on consistent, predictable structures."

The company said it disclosed its positions in advance so that delegators can exercise their own votes with full knowledge of the operator's stance.
