Richardson Electronics to deliver 18 battery storage systems in Alaska

Richardson Electronics, Ltd. (NASDAQ: RELL) announced it will deliver 18 customized battery energy storage systems (BESS) across seven remote communities in Alaska, according to a company press release dated Aug. 20, 2026.
The systems will provide a combined energy storage capacity of 7 MWh. The company described the program as a multi-million-dollar contract, with project completion expected by the end of 2027.
Richardson Electronics said the systems are being engineered to operate in Alaska's extreme temperatures and climate conditions, with each unit designed to meet the specific energy requirements of its host community.
The project is being carried out in collaboration with technology partners, which the company did not identify by name. Richardson Electronics said it is contributing engineering, manufacturing, and systems integration capabilities to the effort.
Greg Peloquin, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Power & Microwave Technologies and Green Energy Solutions groups, said the deployment "represents another important step in the continued growth of our battery energy storage business."
Richardson Electronics is headquartered in LaFox, Illinois, and its common stock trades on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol RELL.
