Evaxion A/S (NASDAQ: EVAX), a Copenhagen-based clinical-stage vaccine company, reported a net loss of $3.7 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared to a net loss of $4.8 million in the same period a year earlier, according to a company press release.
Research and development expenses were $2.3 million for the quarter, a slight increase from $2.2 million in the second quarter of 2025. General and administrative expenses fell to $1.5 million from $2.2 million in the year-ago period, primarily due to lower capital market costs. Cash and cash equivalents stood at $14.0 million as of June 30, 2026, down from $18.4 million at the end of the first quarter. The company said its cash runway extends into the second half of 2027.
Total equity declined to $9.5 million as of June 30, 2026, from $17.0 million at December 31, 2025, reflecting net losses recorded in the first half of the year.
On the pipeline front, Evaxion said it plans to present three-year clinical data for its personalized cancer vaccine candidate EVX-01 at the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress in October 2026. The company also presented new preclinical data for EVX-04, an off-the-shelf cancer vaccine targeting acute myeloid leukemia, at the European Hematology Association Congress, and said it expects to submit a regulatory filing for clinical testing of EVX-04 before year-end.
Evaxion also announced EVX-05, a new off-the-shelf cancer vaccine candidate targeting glioblastoma, developed in part through collaboration with Duke University School of Medicine. New data for its cytomegalovirus vaccine candidate EVX-V1 was presented at the International Herpesvirus Workshop in July 2026.
The company received the 2026 Prix Galien UK Award for best digital health solution for its AI-Immunology platform in June.
CEO Helen Tayton-Martin said the pipeline expansion reflects the platform's ability to identify novel cancer targets, adding that validation of the platform is important for potential partnerships.
