IDEAYA and Genentech to test drug combo in pancreatic cancer

IDEAYA Biosciences (NASDAQ: IDYA) has entered into a clinical collaboration with Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, to evaluate a combination of two investigational drugs in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), according to a press release.

The collaboration will evaluate IDEAYA's IDE892, a Phase 1 MTA-cooperative PRMT5 inhibitor, in combination with Genentech's GDC-7035 (RG6620), a KRAS G12D inhibitor. The trial will target patients whose tumors carry both an MTAP deletion and a KRAS G12D mutation, a combination estimated to occur in up to approximately 15% of PDAC patients.

Genentech will sponsor the clinical trial and oversee joint governance of the study, while IDEAYA will supply IDE892. Both companies retain all commercial rights to their respective compounds.

IDEAYA also plans to initiate a separate Phase 1 combination cohort evaluating IDE892 with Roche's RG6505 in MTAP-deleted, RAS-mutant PDAC in the second half of 2026.

IDE892 is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 dose escalation and expansion trial in MTAP-deleted solid tumors. IDEAYA has also initiated a Phase 1 combination cohort in non-small cell lung cancer and other solid tumors pairing IDE892 with IDE397, its proprietary MAT2A inhibitor.

Under the terms of the clinical collaboration, each party retains independent commercial rights to their respective compounds, including for use as monotherapy and in combination therapies.
