Exacter, Inc. has appointed Brad Johnson as Industry Executive, Electric Utilities, the Columbus, Ohio-based company announced, according to a press release statement.
Johnson previously served as Director, Electric Utilities at Bentley Systems (Nasdaq: BSY) and brings more than 15 years of experience in the electric utility and energy industry. His background includes grid reliability, transmission and distribution modernization, digital twins, asset management, and utility data applications.
In his new role, Johnson will build and lead a team focused on expanding Exacter's relationships with electric utilities and extending the company's services to data centers, industrial customers, and U.S. Department of Defense installations.
"Utilities are facing extraordinary new demands from data centers and other large loads while simultaneously addressing aging infrastructure, reliability, wildfire risk, and resilience," said Geoffrey Bibo, President and CEO of Exacter.
Johnson said the industry is "being asked to accommodate extraordinary growth while improving reliability, resilience, and safety," adding that he is "excited to join Exacter, build a strong team around this opportunity, and help our customers put that intelligence to work."
Exacter uses patented radio frequency sensing technology to detect emissions from deteriorating electrical equipment, allowing customers to identify developing conditions before equipment failure. The technology is deployed across overhead transmission and distribution systems and substations, and can be used alongside LiDAR, infrared, and other technologies during helicopter patrols.
The company has operated for 20 years and has deployed its technology across the United States and internationally.
