Bread Financial Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: BFH) released its monthly performance update for July 2026, reporting year-over-year declines in both its net principal loss rate and delinquency rate.
The company's net principal loss rate for the month ended July 31, 2026, was 6.80%, down from 7.63% for the same period in 2025. Net principal losses totaled $106 million, compared with $114 million a year earlier.
End-of-period credit card and other loans stood at $18.54 billion as of July 31, 2026, up from $17.59 billion a year prior. Average credit card and other loans rose 4.9% year over year to $18.45 billion.
The delinquency rate, measured as 30-days-plus delinquencies as a share of period-end credit card and other loans, came in at 5.35% as of July 31, 2026, compared with 5.82% as of July 31, 2025. The dollar amount of 30-days-plus delinquencies fell to $876 million from $931 million over the same period.
