New Mexico gas pipeline for Oracle data center delayed to 2027

Investing.com -- A natural gas pipeline project in New Mexico designed to supply an Oracle Corp. data center has been postponed, with the new expected start date pushed to early next year.

The Green Chile Project pipeline, previously scheduled to begin service on August 15, will now enter service on February 1, 2027, according to a Friday regulatory filing by Transwestern Pipeline, a subsidiary of Energy Transfer LP (NYSE: ET).

The pipeline will deliver up to 400,000 million dekatherms per day of new firm transportation capacity to serve a new AI and data center facility in Doña Ana County, New Mexico.

Transwestern Pipeline submitted the project for approval with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on January 29, 2026, under a prior notice request. The filing was submitted in response to a FERC data request dated August 11, 2026.

The project requires authorization to construct, install, own, maintain, and operate the pipeline facilities under Transwestern's blanket certificate.
