Wrap Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: WRAP) announced it has been selected by WOFT Charities to provide training support for the WOFT Teacher Safety Training Program, which received $475,000 in Florida's fiscal year 2026–27 state budget.
The appropriation appears in the Conference Report for HB 5001E and is directed to WOFT, a 501(c)(3) organization. WRAP will receive a portion of the funding through WOFT based on the services it provides. The full $475,000 should not be interpreted as a direct award to WRAP, nor as the entirety of future revenue to the company.
The program is designed to deliver safety and preparedness training to teachers, administrators, and other school personnel in Florida. WRAP's role centers on training methodologies focused on situational awareness, threat recognition, early intervention, de-escalation, and avoiding physical confrontation. The curriculum also includes practical self-defense instruction involving flashlights and pepper spray, along with pre- and post-training assessments.
"Everything starts with awareness," said Jared Novick, President of WRAP. "Recognizing threat indicators, understanding when circumstances are changing, and knowing how to avoid or de-escalate a confrontation are foundational skills."
According to the press release, WRAP also holds exclusive access to WOFT's training facility, which the company describes as a national environment for integrated scenario-based training.
WRAP stated it views the Florida initiative as a potential model for applying public safety training principles to education, private security, military, and other professional environments. The company also indicated it sees future opportunities to extend the model into digital training platforms supporting continuous learning and certification.
