Hyatt adds first affiliated hotel in Guyana with $50M expansion plan

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) and RJR Investments & Holdings Inc. announced that Atlantic Suites Hotel in Georgetown, Guyana, has joined the Hyatt portfolio as an affiliated hotel, marking the company's first affiliated property in the country.

The existing hotel currently offers 80 guestrooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Atlantic Ocean or Georgetown skyline, along with a 24-hour fitness center. Guests also have access to amenities at the neighboring Pegasus Hotel, also owned by RJR Investments & Holdings Inc., including approximately 36,000 square feet of meeting and event space and six dining venues.

As part of an approximately $50 million development project, RJR Investments & Holdings Inc. plans to construct a new tower adjacent to Atlantic Suites Hotel. Upon expected completion in 2028, the two buildings will be connected via a pedestrian bridge and rebranded as Hyatt Regency Georgetown Guyana. The combined property is expected to offer 240 guestrooms and suites, a signature restaurant, a lobby and rooftop bar, and meeting and event space.

Following the transition to the Hyatt Regency brand in 2028, the property is expected to join the World of Hyatt loyalty program. The hotel is located approximately six miles from Eugene F. Correia International Airport.

Hyatt also announced that a separate property, Hyatt Place Georgetown Guyana, featuring 136 guestrooms, a rooftop bar, outdoor pool, and free breakfast, is expected to join the Hyatt portfolio later this year.
