Rocket Lab Corporation (Nasdaq: RKLB) has established Rocket Lab Germany GmbH, a new subsidiary based in Munich, according to a company press release dated Aug. 10, 2026.
The new entity follows Rocket Lab's earlier acquisition of Mynaric AG, a Munich-based producer of laser optical communications terminals. Under Rocket Lab's ownership, Mynaric will continue manufacturing optical terminals and developing optical communications technology.
Through Rocket Lab Germany, the company said it is pursuing opportunities that could lead to satellite, payload, and component manufacturing in Germany, potentially creating what it described as a regional hub for constellation-class production serving European customers. The company also cited plans to offer launch services via its Electron and Neutron rockets to European programs.
Rocket Lab founder and CEO Sir Peter Beck said in a statement: "Europe faces glaring gaps across both launch and spacecraft manufacturing. Rocket Lab Germany addresses these directly, combining opportunities for high-frequency access to space with high-volume satellite production to deploy resilient constellations on rapid timelines."
The company noted that manufacturing expansion in Germany remains a potential future development rather than a confirmed plan.
