Morgan Stanley launches $1.5 trillion U.S. innovation initiative

August 10, 2026 4:12 PM EDT

Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) announced the launch of its U.S. Innovation Infrastructure Initiative, through which the firm intends to facilitate approximately $1.5 trillion in capital raising, financing, advisory, and related investment activity over the next 10 years.

The initiative is designed to support clients building and scaling companies, technologies, and infrastructure that the firm describes as central to U.S. economic and national security. It will draw on Morgan Stanley's advisory, capital markets, wealth management, and investment management capabilities.

The initiative is organized around three areas: innovation platforms and strategic industries, infrastructure for the innovation economy, and capital for builders and growth companies. Sectors of focus include artificial intelligence, advanced computing, quantum, semiconductors, cybersecurity, aerospace and defense, pharmaceuticals, critical minerals, and digital and energy infrastructure.

"The United States is entering a period of significant investment and innovation across technology, infrastructure, and strategic industries," said Dan Simkowitz, Co-President of Morgan Stanley. "This initiative brings that impact together through a focused effort to support the companies, technologies, and platforms that are critical to America's long-term economic strength and competitiveness."

The initiative will also complement existing Morgan Stanley programs for founders and growth companies, including private company research coverage and its Founders Summit.
