Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) appointed Varun Krishna and Jason T. Liberty to its Board of Directors, effective August 10, 2026.
Krishna serves as Chief Executive Officer of Rocket Companies, Inc. and interim Chief Executive Officer of Redfin. Liberty is the Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
As non-employee board members, both Krishna and Liberty will receive an annual retainer fee of $100,000, pro-rated for the June 2026 through May 2027 service period. They will also receive free travel on Southwest Airlines for themselves, their spouses, and their children, along with 50 one-way flight passes annually for unrestricted use and an additional 50 one-way flight passes annually for qualified charitable and 501(c)(3) organizations.
Following their board service, directors who served fewer than five terms receive 50 one-way flight passes annually for five years. Those who served five or more but fewer than ten terms receive the same passes for ten years. Directors who served at least ten terms receive a lifetime benefit of 50 one-way flight passes annually.
