Rocket Lab unveils containerized GHOST launch system for global use

Rocket Lab Corporation (Nasdaq: RKLB) has unveiled a containerized launch system called GHOST, designed to enable suborbital and orbital rocket launches from locations worldwide, according to a company press release.

GHOST, which stands for Global Hypersonic & Orbital Spaceport Technology, packages Rocket Lab's Electron and HASTE rockets along with launch infrastructure, ground support, and range control systems inside standard shipping containers. The system is intended to support multi-launch campaigns and national security missions.

The first deployment of GHOST, designated Launch Complex 4, will be established at the Pacific Spaceport Complex in Kodiak, Alaska, with two launch pads. This will bring Rocket Lab's total number of operated pads to six, alongside existing sites at Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand and Launch Complexes 2 and 3 in Virginia. The company plans an operational debut with a suborbital launch from Alaska in 2027.

Because Electron and HASTE share the same ground infrastructure, GHOST is designed to support both vehicles from new locations. The system uses a modular design intended to allow rapid site activation.
