South Star Battery Metals Corp. (TSXV: STS) (OTCQB: STSBF) has received a purchase order for 36 tonnes of graphite concentrate from an unnamed customer after completing a qualification process for material produced at its Santa Cruz mine in Bahia, Brazil, according to a company press release.
Three shipments of graphite samples from the Santa Cruz mine were sent to the buyer on June 1, July 14, and July 28, 2026, for laboratory analysis to confirm quality specifications. Both flake and fines samples were included in the testing. The first bulk shipment under the purchase order was scheduled to be dispatched shortly after the announcement.
The company stated that the 36-tonne sale is not material to its financial position but described it as a milestone for the project. The buyer is also testing fines samples and has expressed interest in additional purchases.
COO Rogerio Barcellos said, "We are very pleased to have achieved this significant milestone in the development of the Santa Cruz graphite project. While the laboratory analysis and price negotiation process took longer than anticipated, we see a clear path for significant potential revenue with this important customer."
South Star did not disclose the purchase price or the identity of the buyer. Discussions with the customer are described as ongoing.
