August 6, 2026 9:30 AM EDT

Joby Aviation (NYSE: JOBY) has signed a lease for 45,000 square feet at Alliance Air Trade Center in Haslet, Texas, located within Hillwood's Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport, according to a joint statement from Joby and Hillwood.

The facility sits inside AllianceTexas, a 27,000-acre development anchored by Perot Field. Hillwood describes the airport as the first industrial airport purpose-built for cargo and corporate aviation.

The lease is described as the first significant presence by an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft manufacturer in North Texas. Joby plans to use the location to support flights under the federal eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP) across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Greg Bowles, Joby's Chief Policy Officer, said the site "gives us a base to demonstrate the value of air mobility services across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and the state."

The new facility places Joby within the AllianceTexas Mobility Innovation Zone, a public-private partnership that includes industry partners, policymakers and infrastructure groups. Partners cited in the announcement include the Texas Department of Transportation and the North Central Texas Council of Governments.

Samuel Rhea, vice president at Hillwood, said the lease reflects the development's ability to support "aviation, manufacturing and the advanced air mobility sector."

Joby is a California-based company developing an all-electric air taxi intended for commercial passenger service.
