SEALSQ Corp (NASDAQ: LAES) has appointed Daniel Brau as Chief Quantum Officer, a newly created executive role focused on the commercial development of the company's SEALQuantum Sovereign Vertical Stack, according to a press release dated Aug. 4, 2026.
Brau joins SEALSQ following the company's full acquisition of Miraex SA, a Swiss photonics-based quantum interconnect company he founded. Miraex now operates as SEALSQ's quantum networking and interconnect subsidiary within the SEALQuantum platform.
In the CQO role, Brau will oversee the integration and commercialization of technologies spanning quantum computing, quantum networking, photonics, post-quantum cryptography, trusted semiconductors, satellite infrastructure, digital identity and artificial intelligence. His mandate includes revenue generation, strategic partnerships, customer acquisition and cross-company synergies across the SEALQuantum portfolio.
Carlos Moreira, founder and CEO of SEALSQ, said in a statement: "The next objective is to connect these technologies, generate synergies between them and, most importantly, convert innovation into revenues and scalable commercial solutions."
Brau will also support the development of a Geneva Quantum Center of Excellence, to be hosted at the planned new headquarters of WISeKey International Holding Ltd (SIX: WIHN; NASDAQ: WKEY), SEALSQ's parent company, in Pont-Rouge, Lancy, following a relocation scheduled for later in 2026. The center is intended to link scientific research, industrial development and capital through collaborations with universities, government agencies and technology companies.
SEALSQ describes its long-term objective as building an integrated Swiss Sovereign Quantum Computing Platform combining semiconductor roots of trust, post-quantum cybersecurity, quantum processors, interconnects, communications and satellite infrastructure into a single architecture it calls "Root-to-Qubit."
Brau said his focus will be on "concrete customer projects, revenue generation and long-term partnerships" across the company's semiconductor, photonics, cybersecurity and satellite capabilities.
