SmartRent, Inc. (NYSE: SMRT) announced a multi-year agreement with Databricks to integrate the Databricks Data + AI Platform into SmartRent's data architecture, according to a press release from the company.
Under the agreement, SmartRent will use the Databricks platform as the foundation for its next-generation data infrastructure, targeting property operators in the rental housing industry. The collaboration is intended to support workflow automation, portfolio visibility, and operational analytics for property owners and on-site teams.
SmartRent Chief Information Officer Sangeeth Ponathil said the initiative is part of the company's Vision 2028 strategic framework. "By pairing the expansive reach of our physical infrastructure with the AI-driven property intelligence and workflow automation capabilities of the Databricks Data + AI Platform, we are building the next generation of property intelligence," he said.
The two companies said they plan to deliver capabilities across two strategic areas: scalable operational intelligence, aimed at helping property operators streamline workflows and maximize net operating income, and enterprise governance and portfolio visibility, focused on providing a unified data foundation for real estate stakeholders.
SmartRent will participate in Databricks' Built On program, which the companies say is designed to help bring solutions to market more quickly. Sarah Branfman, Global VP of ISV at Databricks, said the program will allow SmartRent to "de-risk and accelerate" how it brings its solutions to market.
SmartRent provides smart home and property technology solutions to the rental housing industry and is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.
