July 29, 2026 9:07 AM EDT

Teledyne FLIR Defense, a unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), has received an order from AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV) to supply its Argus XL counter-unmanned aircraft system platform for use in AeroVironment's Titan Multi-Sensor counter-drone solution serving the U.S. Air Force.

The orders are being executed under AeroVironment's three-year, $500 million Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity sole-source contract supporting Joint Interagency Task Force 401's Domestic Shield Program. JIATF-401 selected the Titan Multi-Sensor system to provide layered counter-UAS protection for domestic installations and critical infrastructure.

The Argus XL provides radar, visible and thermal imaging sensors, and command-and-control software that serve as core detection capabilities within the Titan Multi-Sensor architecture. The fixed-site platform is designed to detect and track multiple aerial threats around the clock and in demanding weather conditions. It also supports integration with third-party radio-frequency sensors and defeat technologies.

"We are proud to collaborate with AV to deliver advanced counter-drone technology that enables the U.S. military to detect, classify, track, and respond to increasingly complex unmanned aerial threats," said Dr. JihFen Lei, President of Teledyne Defense and Aerospace Group and Senior Vice President of Teledyne Technologies.
