US airline stocks climb in premarket on lower oil prices

Investing.com -- Shares of major US airlines rose in premarket trading on Monday as crude oil prices dropped following news from Iran over the weekend.

Delta Air Lines gained 2.9%, while JetBlue Airways also increased 2.9%. Southwest Airlines advanced 3.7%.

American Airlines climbed 4%, Alaska Air rose 3.2%, and United Airlines added 3.6%.

Crude oil WTI futures traded roughly 6% lower after Iranian officials announced over the weekend that Tehran would halt its strikes in critical transit corridors if the United States ceased its military actions in the region.
