Agility Robotics has appointed Michael Beer as Chief Financial Officer as the humanoid robotics company prepares for a public listing through a planned business combination with Churchill Capital Corp XI (NASDAQ: CCXI).
Beer previously served as CFO and Head of Corporate Services at Energy Vault Holdings (NYSE: NRGV). Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade as an equity research analyst covering transportation, logistics and infrastructure at Citigroup, Wolfe Research and Bear Stearns. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance and entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
In his new role, Beer will oversee capital markets, financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury and investor relations.
As part of the leadership change, Jennifer Hunter, who previously held the combined role of CFO and Chief Operating Officer, will transition to serving exclusively as COO, focusing on manufacturing, supply chain and global operations.
"Strengthening our leadership team is a natural step in that evolution," said CEO Peggy Johnson. "Michael brings outstanding public company finance and capital markets experience, while Jennifer will focus exclusively on scaling our operational excellence and manufacturing capabilities."
The planned business combination with Churchill Capital Corp XI is expected to provide more than $620 million in gross proceeds. Agility counts Nvidia, Amazon, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Schaeffler, and Foxconn among its strategic investors. The company said it has an enterprise customer pipeline of more than 30 companies across logistics, manufacturing and supply chain, with active deployments at Schaeffler, GXO and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada.
