Brown & Brown, Inc. (NYSE: BRO) has announced plans to deploy artificial intelligence across its operations, partnering with Anthropic, McKinsey & Company, and Accenture to support the initiative, according to a press release from the Daytona Beach, Fla.-based insurance brokerage.
The company said it plans to deploy Anthropic's Claude AI system across its roughly 23,000 employees and integrate AI into workflows covering customer service, operations, technology, and corporate functions. Claude Code, Anthropic's software development tool, will also be rolled out across Brown & Brown's entire software engineering organization.
The company reported results from early pilot programs using Claude Code, saying participating teams recorded productivity gains of approximately 2x to 8x, with some tasks previously requiring days completed in hours. Analysis and troubleshooting time was reduced by an estimated 80–90% in certain use cases, and the tool helped identify software vulnerabilities not detected by other tools. The company also said 80% of pilot participants rated Claude Code's value at 5 out of 5.
Brown & Brown said it is establishing a value management office to monitor adoption, measure return on investment, and maintain oversight as AI capabilities expand across the company.
Powell Brown, president and chief executive officer, said in the release, "Our teammates are Brown & Brown's greatest differentiator, and we view AI as an enabler of their experience, specialization and judgment — not a replacement for it."
The three external partners will provide expertise across AI development, business transformation, and governance. Accenture will focus on technology architecture and implementation, while McKinsey will assist with redesigning workflows. Anthropic will supply the underlying AI models.
