Blackbaud adds four AI agents for nonprofit and education sectors

July 22, 2026 9:29 AM EDT

Blackbaud (NASDAQ: BLKB) announced four new AI agents within its Agents for Good suite, along with several AI-powered product enhancements for its Financial Edge NXT platform, according to a company press release.

The four new agents, planned for delivery in the coming month, include a Data Health Agent for identifying duplicate records and resolving constituent data issues, an Admissions Agent for K–12 schools, a Digital Marketing Agent for campaign planning and optimization, and an Accounts Payable Agent for Financial Edge NXT that aims to reduce manual work across payment cycles.

The announcements build on Blackbaud's existing Development Agent, which the company says executes autonomous donor engagement workflows. The company reported that the Development Agent has a reply rate 76 times the industry average, a message open rate 10 percentage points above the industry average, and an attributable gift size 39% higher than the industry average.

"We're using the Development Agent to accelerate donor connections and make those connections more impactful in a shorter period," said Brian Otis, vice president for university advancement at the University of New Haven.

Financial Edge NXT enhancements announced include AI Document Intelligence for invoice processing, an Import Mapping Assistant, and AI Anomaly Detection and Reconciliation Assistants for transaction oversight.

Separately, Blackbaud's AI Coalition for Social Impact recently opened a free AI for Social Impact Certification Program, which the company says has drawn thousands of registrants.

Blackbaud plans to provide additional details on its platform at its annual customer conference, bbcon 2026, scheduled for Sept. 29 through Oct. 1 in Columbus, Ohio.
