Workday launches AI-powered learning platform built on Sana

July 22, 2026 9:01 AM EDT

Workday, Inc. (NASDAQ: WDAY) announced the general availability of Workday Learning, powered by Sana, an AI-based corporate learning platform that combines Workday's workforce data with Sana's learning technology.

The product integrates with Workday Human Capital Management, using employee data such as role, skills, location, and organization to generate personalized learning recommendations. It includes an AI tutoring feature, automated course creation tools, and administrative automation for assignments and compliance reporting.

According to the company, organizations using the platform's AI authoring tools have reported reductions of up to 98% in content creation time, while some customers reported up to five times faster compliance reporting and three times higher learner engagement compared to prior systems. Workday did not identify the specific customers behind those figures.

The platform allows instructional designers to upload existing documents, such as PDFs and presentations, and convert them into structured courses. Built-in translation tools support localization into dozens of languages. Learning paths update automatically when employees change roles or locations.

"Checking the box isn't the same as building a skill," said Joel Hellermark, chief AI officer at Workday. "With a personal AI tutor, interactive quizzes, and learning tailored to each employee's role and skills, Workday Learning, powered by Sana, turns required training into engaging experiences employees can apply in their day-to-day work."

Accenture's Colin Anderson, chief operating officer of HR, said the platform "builds on top of the Accenture LearnVantage foundation—helping us deliver more adaptive, AI-enabled experiences that accelerate capability building across our workforce."

The solution is available globally for existing Workday HCM customers. Sana Learn is also available as a standalone product for organizations that do not use Workday HCM or Workday Financial Management. Workday noted the Sana components are not yet available in certain regulated and sovereign deployment environments.
