Luxair converts two Boeing 737-10 options to firm orders

Luxair, the national airline of Luxembourg, has converted two options for the Boeing (NYSE: BA) 737-10 into firm orders and secured options for two additional 737-10 aircraft, the companies announced at the Farnborough Airshow.

The agreement brings Luxair's firm order book to 12 Boeing 737 aircraft. Once all firm orders are delivered, the fleet will consist of eight 737-8s and four 737-10s. Two additional purchase options were also secured under the new agreement.

The move follows Luxair's 2024 order for two Boeing 737-10 aircraft.

"This agreement represents another important milestone in the execution of our long-term fleet strategy," said Gilles Feith, CEO of Luxair, adding that the 737-10 provides capacity, operational efficiency, and flexibility to support future demand.

Feith also cited environmental factors, noting the aircraft offer 20% lower fuel use and emissions compared with the aircraft they replace. Boeing states each new-generation 737 can save up to 8 million pounds of CO₂ emissions annually.

The 737-10 aircraft will be configured with 213 seats and will feature the Boeing Sky Interior with a seat pitch of 76 cm, USB-C charging at every seat, and wireless in-flight entertainment. The aircraft will be powered by CFM LEAP-1B engines.

The 737-10 can seat up to 230 passengers with a range of 3,100 nautical miles (5,740 km).
