Halozyme Therapeutics (NASDAQ: HALO) has entered into a global collaboration and license agreement with Incyte (NASDAQ: INCY) to develop subcutaneous formulations of INCA033989, a mutant calreticulin (mutCALR)-targeted monoclonal antibody being studied in patients with mutCALR-expressing myeloproliferative neoplasms.
The agreement grants Incyte rights to use Halozyme's ENHANZE drug delivery technology with its mutCALR development program. Incyte also holds an option to nominate up to two additional targets for use with the technology.
Under the terms of the deal, Halozyme will receive an upfront payment from Incyte, along with potential milestone payments and royalties on net sales of any commercialized medicines that use the ENHANZE platform. Specific financial terms were not disclosed.
The collaboration is aimed at evaluating whether ENHANZE can strengthen the subcutaneous formulation currently in development for INCA033989, with a focus on delivery convenience and dosing regimens.
"Incyte brings a strong portfolio and deep expertise in hematology, and we look forward to working together to enable the development of more convenient subcutaneous treatment options for patients," said Dr. Helen Torley, President and Chief Executive Officer of Halozyme.
