July 20, 2026 6:28 AM EDT

Investing.com -- The Federal Aviation Administration is close to certifying Boeing's 737 MAX 7 and MAX 10 aircraft after completing an intensive review of the variants, a senior agency official said Monday.

Deputy FAA Administrator Chris Rocheleau told Reuters that the MAX 7 certification is "literally around the corner," with the MAX 10 to follow shortly after. He made the comments during an interview at the Farnborough Air Show.

The FAA also anticipates certifying Boeing's 777x after the two MAX aircraft receive approval. Rocheleau said the 777x certification could occur either later this year or in early 2027, depending on when Boeing provides the necessary information to the agency.
