Boeing to resume issuing 737 MAX and 787 airworthiness certificates next week

Investing.com -- The Federal Aviation Administration informed Congress on Friday that Boeing (NYSE: BA) will be permitted to issue airworthiness certificates for all 737 MAX and 787 aircraft beginning next week, Reuters reported Friday citing an email from the agency to U.S. Congress.

The FAA stated in an email that the decision comes after months of comprehensive data and safety reviews showing consistent production quality. The agency said the move demonstrates its confidence in Boeing's capability to issue airworthiness certificates under FAA oversight.

The authorization represents a major development for the U.S. aircraft manufacturer.
