Quantum Secure Encryption lands Malaysia financial services order
Quantum Secure Encryption Corp. (CSE: QSE, OTCQB: QSEGF, FSE: VN80) has secured a purchase order for its Quantum Preparedness Assessment platform from the Malaysian operations of a global insurance and asset-management group, according to a company statement.
The Vancouver-based company described the order as its first major financial-services adoption of the QPA platform. The name of the customer was not disclosed.
QSE's QPA platform is designed to help organizations identify which systems and data may be vulnerable to future quantum-computing threats. The platform generates cryptographic asset inventories, risk prioritization reports, and migration roadmaps for security, compliance, and executive stakeholders.
Financial-services firms are considered a priority market for post-quantum readiness tools due to long data retention requirements and what security researchers describe as a "harvest now, decrypt later" risk, in which encrypted data collected today could potentially be decrypted by more advanced quantum computers in the future.
"Large financial-services organizations do not move forward with cybersecurity vendors unless there is a real operational need and a rigorous review process," said Ted Carefoot, Chief Executive Officer of QSE.
The company noted that Malaysia's Cyber Security Act 2024 identifies banking and finance as a critical information infrastructure sector subject to national cybersecurity obligations. QSE said the order supports its broader commercial positioning in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology finalized its first post-quantum cryptography standards and has directed organizations to begin migrating to quantum-resistant systems.
