Happy Belly Food Group signs Via Cibo franchise deal for Kingston, Ontario
Happy Belly Food Group Inc. (CSE: HBFG) (OTCQB: HBFGF) has signed a franchise agreement to open a Via Cibo Italian Street Food restaurant in Kingston, Ontario, according to a company press release.
Via Cibo currently operates eight locations, with five in Alberta and three in Ontario. The Kingston agreement brings the brand's total secured locations under area development agreements to more than 23 across Canada.
"Via Cibo is entering its next phase of accelerated growth," said Sean Black, Chief Executive Officer of Happy Belly. "Kingston is one of Ontario's most established and resilient regional markets, supported by a diverse economy, a growing population, strong tourism, and a significant post-secondary student base."
Happy Belly's broader portfolio spans 686 contractually committed retail franchise locations across multiple brands in various stages of development, construction, and operation. The company's brand portfolio includes Heal Wellness, Rosie's Burgers, Yolks Breakfast, and Via Cibo Italian Street Food, among others.
Kingston has a population of more than 140,000 and is home to Queen's University, St. Lawrence College, and Canadian Forces Base Kingston. The city is located along Highway 401 between Toronto, Ottawa, and Montréal.
