Lilly to present 16 Alzheimer's abstracts at AAIC 2026 in London

Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) announced it will present 16 abstracts at the 2026 Alzheimer's Association International Conference (AAIC), scheduled for July 12-15 in London, according to a company press release.

The presentation lineup includes three oral presentations and 13 poster sessions covering imaging science, health economics, real-world prescribing evidence, and patient-centered outcomes.

On July 15, a session titled "Donanemab in Early Symptomatic Alzheimer's Disease: Evidence to Address Clinical Questions" will present findings from the TRAILBLAZER-ALZ 6 trial and the TRAILBLAZER-ALZ 2 long-term extension. The data includes safety findings related to modified titration and corticosteroid pretreatment, along with biomarker results from the long-term extension.

Also on July 15, Samantha Burnham, Ph.D., a senior research scientist at Lilly, will present data showing that P-tau217 blood biomarker assays demonstrated rule-in performance comparable to amyloid positron emission tomography (PET) for identifying Alzheimer's disease pathology in cognitively unimpaired individuals. The press release notes that neither blood biomarker tests nor amyloid PET agents are currently indicated for use in cognitively unimpaired individuals.

On July 13, Lars Raket, Ph.D., of Lilly, will present an analysis of external controls versus internal extrapolation methods used in the TRAILBLAZER-ALZ 2 long-term extension, addressing how long-term outcomes are measured in clinical trials.

Kisunla (donanemab-azbt) is currently approved for adults with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia stage of early symptomatic Alzheimer's disease with confirmed amyloid pathology. The treatment carries warnings for amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA), which can in rare cases be fatal, and for serious infusion-related reactions.

According to Alzheimer's Disease International, approximately 55 million people currently live with Alzheimer's disease worldwide, a figure projected to reach 78 million by 2030.
