Navitas Semiconductor (Nasdaq: NVTS) issued a statement disputing a patent infringement complaint filed against it by Wolfspeed in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
Navitas said it intends to "vigorously defend itself and its products" against what it described as "baseless accusations of infringement," and said it expects to prevail in the litigation. The company characterized Wolfspeed's filing as "an attempt to seek an advantage that they are unable to gain through healthy competition."
The Torrance, California-based company, which makes gallium nitride and silicon carbide power semiconductors, said it has built its technology through independent research, development, and investment, and maintains its own global intellectual property portfolio of over 300 patents issued or pending.
Navitas said it does not intend to comment further on the matter while litigation is pending.
